In March, Oak Class in the Post 16 Department, attended the annual Merseyside Schools Enterprise Showcase which this year was held at The LACE Centre, Sefton Park. 15 schools across the region contributed to the day each selling products that the children had made. We produced Easter and Mother's Day gifts made from recycled products and Cream Eggs donated from Ainsdale Tesco and Co-Op. Part of the day included taking part in a "Dragon's Den" style task were the students have to explain how the products were made and the thought processes behind the ideas. As well as making the products, on the day selling, handling money, customer service and marketing are all skills the students used. They all brought money and purchased products from other schools, had a free lunch, saw friends from other establishments and sold everything we took. It was a very enjoyable day!
