And so it begins! We have already had our Ainsdale Community Advent Service, family Christmas lunches and tomorrow we are all looking forward to our visit from members of Skelmersdale Brass Band for a Christmas Sing-a-long! Each class is having a trip out into the local community whilst at the same time rehearsals are taking place for next week's productions. All of this alongside our expected learning sessions and without too much hype or stress in order to ensure everyone stays calm and enjoys every experience!

Thank you to all parents and friends who came into school on Monday to purchase the wonderful Christmas decorations that Mereside students had made - these were mostly made from recycled items and were truly stunning!

Our Christmas Hamper Raffle is well under way - tickets are available from the school office and will be on sale during each of the productions next week. The Draw will take place on Friday December 16th.

Great news - the new playground is now open and the pupils are really enjoying learning to use all the different pieces of equipment - weather permitting of course!

I know one of the highlights of this festive season are our school productions and I look forward to seeing many of you next week. For those who are not able to come into school I would like to wish you a happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year.

Term ends at 14:00 on Tuesday December 20th and school will re-open on Thursday January 5th at 09:00 - very best wishes

Sue
