Welcome to our Class Page!

We are proud to have a Total Communication classroom which makes use of pictures and visual symbols, printed language, Objects of Reference, TEACCH, Signalong, PECS, Communication Books, Aided Language Input (ALI) boards in every lesson and a variety of augmentative communication aids to support each individual pupil.  Staff also adapt language to suit each pupil and their receptive language level.  We believe that Communication underpins our curriculum and is supported throughout every learning opportunity as we believe this is allows access to our rich and varied learning opportunities.

Quality of Education is key; we follow a highly engaging, bespoke and child centred curriculum; working closely with parents/carers and professionals to ensure our  pupils make outstanding progress from their starting points.

We ensure that, as new skills are mastered, learning is generalised and maintained therefore ensuring our pupils make connections and thus enable deep learning to take place.

Each pupil's personalised learning intentions are based upon their individual Education, Health and Care Plan/Statement.   This integrates the aspirations of parents, medical professionals and professionals such as Speech and Language Therapy and Physiotherapy to ensure learning is holistic, meaningful and beneficial to each young person.

Our classroom is designed to promote independent learning skills; we are fantastically equipped with our own kitchen, conservatory, quiet space and have direct access onto a large playground, Sensory Engine Room and Forest School area.

Pupils update parents/carers weekly in terms of their learning through a personal newsletter which is sent home on a Friday - we do hope you enjoy sharing our fun packed week through writing and photos!

We also use Class Dojo to communicate frequently with our parents; sending interesting things about our day, successes with learning and lovely photos.  If parents have not signed up already, then please respond to the email invitation I have sent you and download the app to enjoy this wonderful feature.
