I have been a Governor at Merefield for over 14 years and Chairman for last 5 years. I was also an Ainsdale Ward Councillor for 12 years prior to my resignation in 2012.
My commitment to Merefield and its young people, parents and carers remains consistent.  It is a privilege to be part of Merefield and by working together we look forward to building on what has been achieved, and also ensure our young people remain our top priority.

I trained as a teacher for primary and special schools - and have been working in special educational needs for thirty five years so far.

I have worked all over the country (I do like variety) and in different types of jobs, advisory teacher, head teacher, local authority senior manager and school improvement partner.

Being a governor at Merefield is a privilege and a joy. I am really pleased to be working with such committed staff and governors - all with the best interests of the children at heart.

As Headteacher I am accountable to The Governing Body for all major decisions regarding any aspect of school. I attend all Governor Committee meetings and meet regularly with the Chair of Governors to ensure good communication between school and The Governing Body.

I am the Director of Operations for Revitalise, a national charity that provides respite holidays for disabled people and carers.

I have always enjoyed supporting the local community within my role, and being part of Merefield School enables me to continue supporting disabled people to enjoy the choice and independence we all take for granted in our own lives.

My background is with Merseyside Police but I retired several years ago.  Since then I have worked within IT, business continuity and a local business.  Having recently only joined the team, I hope to use the skills I have acquired to compliment those already on the team, to provide the best school experience for each and every young person who attends Merefield.

Hi, I have been a parent governor for a few years and have a young man in the Junior part of the school who has Cerebral Palsy.  I have worked with children and young people for many years and have fostered and adopted for the last 24 years.

I feel it is important having parent governors representing all our families and enjoy being one of the governors of such a good and respected school.  I am also on the Health and Safety subcommittee.
