Headteacher Blog......

Although we are now well settled into the Spring Term I would like to take a moment to record my very grateful thanks to all Merefield wonderful staff for all their hard work, commitment and enthusiasm for all the various Christmas activities that took place during the last few weeks of last term! Every class had a special Christmas outing such as visits to Christmas Grottos, special Christmas Carvery lunches at the local Toby Inn and Christmas present shopping -no to mention our wonderful whole school Christmas Production which had to perform to three packed audiences in order to make sure all families and friends could attend! We also held our first Family and Friends Christmas lunch here in school and our first Christmas Tree Festival whereby every class decorated a Christmas tree to reflect their own personalities and interests - this festival was judged by Jaqui Schober-Williams from Dobbies who was overwhelmed by the design and creativity of every tree - as a result everyone was a winner! None of these events and activities could take place without a lot of thought, time and effort by all staff  - I thank you all!!

School has quickly got into the natural rhythm that is the everyday expectation here at Merefield which is always commented upon by visitors looking around  - calm, purposeful, happy and personalised learning are the usual adjectives used to describe first impressions! We are nearing the end of our Annual Review meetings and I am delighted to have been able to attend the majority of these in order to celebrate the successful progress of all our wonderful young people.

2014 has seen the introduction of the new 2 weekly Merefield Diary which is a quick reminder of upcoming important dates and events - no excuses now for forgetting any event!!

I am delighted to be able to go on our next residential to Wingates in a couple of weeks - I am sure I will have plenty to share after that experience!!
