Another update from our wonderful school to highlight all the amazing extra curricular activities that have gone on in the past few months....

Two amazing residentials - Wingates in Cheshire ( February ) and Center Parcs in Cumbria ( March ) - both were very successful weeks which allowed all pupils who went so many opportunities for developing independent living skills. The photos/dvd are wonderful evidence of everyones' achievements - well done and as always a great big thank you to the staff who made everything happen.

World Book Day ( March )- a wonderful themed day incorporating so many activities linked to literacy promotion - a great article in the local newspaper to show case it all!

Easter Showcase Family afternoons ( April ) - an opportunity to share with all our families the hard work that all our pupils achieve each and every day here at school

Wavertree Athletics Sports Day ( May )- the secondary department Sports Day which allows all our pupils to participate in a range of athletic events with pupils from across the Merseyside region - despite the rainy weather a great day was had by all with a vast array of medals to show for all our efforts!

Upcoming events are

• a new residential to Crosby Lakeside Center which will allow pupils who have not yet experienced a night away from home to begin to build up those important independent skills
• the introduction of an accredited sailing course for a group of 14-19 department pupils being held every Friday afternoon until the end of this summer term
• further involvement with Bridge Inn Farm to develop various garden space around our school site so we can contribute to the forthcoming Ainsdale in Bloom competition
