Within each Early Years Classroom there is a high ratio of staff working alongside and supporting each child.
The Early Years Teachers take on the role of 'The Key Person'; liaising with parents and other professionals attending meetings and sharing key information.
All staff working in the classroom however will also play an active role as an important person in the child's life; establishing a special nurturing relationship with both the child and their families, providing personal and physical care to the child, as well as the responsibility of recording and assessing progress under the guidance of the class teacher.
Each member of staff has an Emergency First Aid at Work (including Paediatric) Certificate (see First Aid in Schools Policy 2024).
