Welcome back everyone!! - I hope you all had an enjoyable summer break and made the most of our lovely summer weather!

During the holidays various environment improvements took place such as permanent electric hoists fitted to two more classrooms, redecoration and new carpet in three classrooms and of course the complete refurbishment of our new classroom space within Shoreside - now known as Mereside! A large group of 14-19 pupils and staff are now based in Mereside which has freed up room within the main school building so allowing eight new pupils to join our Merefield Family - a very warm welcome to you all.

Our Summer School was as successful as ever - various activities took place including visits to the beach, local parks, Netherton Activity Center and Crosby lakeside. All the pupils who took part had a wonderful time and thanks and appreciation go to Lynn Morgan-Green and her staff team who made it all possible.

We welcome eight new members of staff this academic year and two new members of our Governing Body and I know they are all eagerly looking forward to working with our wonderful pupils and getting to know all members of our Merefield Family.

Most pupils have moved to a different class this September - updated class information on this website will have been completed by the end of September. We are holding a Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday Sept 27th; Class 1 to 6 from 09:45 - 10:30 and Class 7 to 10 from 10:45 - 11:30 for all families and carers of pupils within the school - do come along and say hello to your son/daughters' new staff team and raise money for a very worthwhile cause at the same time.

This forthcoming year looks more action packed and exciting than every before - we already have three residentials planned and lots of other new activities to be introduced into an already full timetable!!
