Last week of term with everyone looking forward to festivities and rest! A very big THANK YOU to everyone who helped out at our Sainsburys Bag packing this past weekend - pupils and staff took part on Friday and Governors, parents and staff took part Saturday and Sunday. We do not know the exact total raised yet but it will certainly be in excess of £1000 which, along with the Family Fun Night held a couple of weeks ago and the raffle held in school last week, means that we will have started our Adventure Playground Fundraising with around £5000 from this term!! A tremendous achievement which we will look to build on next term.

Another very exciting event coming up is our Official Opening of the new extension! We have scheduled this for Friday February 26th with more details to follow. The new space is now fully furnished and being enjoyed by both staff and pupils.

When we return in January we shall be welcoming a new Premises Officer to our team. We were very sad to say goodbye to Peter Walsh who left us to take up a similar job nearer to home, but we are delighted to welcome John Hogendoorn - I am sure John will quickly make himself at home and continue to ensure Merefield always looks at its very best!

School will be closing for the forthcoming holidays at 14:00 on Friday December 18th and will re-open for pupils on Tuesday January 5th 2016 - have a happy and peaceful holiday

    best wishes,  Sue
