Well I have survived another action packed week at Center Parcs!! Myself, six other members of staff and 14 members of the 14-19 department had a wonderful week last week experiencing aqua jets, archery, rock climbing, swimming, bowling, squash, musical shows and a professional photoshoot! Alongside all this we had to shop and cook for ourselves and ensure our lodges were neat and tidy at all times! No wonder we were all exhausted when we returned on Friday!!  Just before half term another group of KS3 pupils had enjoyed a fabulous time at Wingates Residential Center visiting the Blue Planet Aquarium and Chester Zoo alongside other exciting activities. Do have a look at the wonderful photographs from each residential on the main corridor next time you visit school. As always many many thanks to all the members of staff who give up their time to make these trips happen - magical memories for everyone concerned.

This week is an especially busy week here at school - Monday was a wonderful World Book Celebration Day when we spent the whole day exploring the book Aliens Love Underpants! Pupils listened to audio versions of the book, participated in a sensory story, created wonderful aliens and had some very out of this world experiences! Today a group of KS2 pupils have competed in a Regional Panathalon Sporting Competition and have just returned with armfuls of medal and a beautiful trophy for our display cabinet! On Friday it is Comic Relief Day and there are a variety of activities taking place to raise much needed funds for others less fortunate than ourselves.

Those of you who have visited school in the past few weeks cannot help but have noticed the speed at which our new extension is taking shape - the steel frame is now complete and everything is on schedule for a June completion at the moment.

Unfortunately we had some bad news last week regarding our lovely swimming pool - quite a few tiles have become dislodged in the middle of the floor and after inspection it has been decided that the whole floor needs replacing - Sefton have agreed to finance this large repair but it will take a couple of months at least to sort everything out so there will be no in school swimming for the foreseeable future. Obviously I will try to hurry things along but ....

All pupils are continuing to enjoy and make progress within our new curriculum - I do hope many parents will be able to come along at the end of this term to our Easter Showcases to see all the wonderful things that have been happening in school this term.
